I began this over a year ago with a couple of voice over scripts and a story inspired by the Francis Scott Key bridge collapse.
I asked my friends Molly Moores and Ashley Sterner to read some scripts for me, and then rounded it out with my colleague Marcus Dagold. This is the first animation into which I’ve incorporated dialog. I usually try to communicate with facial expressions, gestures and body language. In some of my films, my characters do not even have faces (Brains, Lunatics, Lunacy).
And then I began animating at the end of May/early June. I’ve made a few dioramas, but honestly, I’ve done little else. I used procreate and ToonSquid on my iPad.
To commemorate, I made 75 patches.
I’m very happy to have this one finished. It’s my longest animation yet (8:39), and it’s full of hidden meaning. You can check it out at doranimation.com.
