The Binding of the Ghoul

The Ghoul was bound to the Grackles and then released, once he was tethered to their collective will. This shows the end result – complete with a real bird’s nest that Leezle found this summer. The reliquary was found in the dollar isle at Target. What a bargain – I don’t think Target realizes what they have there.

I tried making a bird’s nest out of paper. I made several and they weren’t very good. I studied this one, and I’ve been working with it for a while – it truly is a marvel.

THE GUIDE

Our imagination is our guide.

I had never heard of Altoids Chewing Gum until Sharney gave me a couple of these old tins. It makes sense, I suppose, that Altoids made gum at some point, as they are owned by Wrigley.  I like these tins. They have a long profile, they are deep, the inside is concave and very reflective. I used the shiny inside to give the illusion of even more flowers and ivy.

Summoning the Demon

Many young magicians are tempted  by the allure of having a demon servant and some try to summon one.  Dr. F was no exception – it’s a tricky procedure at the best of times, like when your assistant hasn’t fainted in the middle of the ceremony.

This is my daughter’s iPod touch case.

The City of Lost Things

An experiment involving a single strip of paper. There’s a moat, draw bridge and miles of alleys and walls.  It’s the City of Lost Things which contains the Reverse Clock Tower. This one needs a slight redo, but I’m posting it anyway because I still believe it’s worthwhile to share the half baked pies.  The show is coming along – I still have so much I want to do, so many big ideas.
