What week it was! Four days felt like a month. Which brings me to the weekend, which evaporated very quickly.
The Good News:We celebrated my brother-in-law’s birthday. My favorite used bookstore in Baltimore landed a pretty good haul of Edward Gorey titles, and in addition to finding some sought after treasures, I landed a book signed by Gorey himself.

We got to spend time with Lily, and took her to second story books in Rockville (where I scored yet more Gorey works).

It was still very cold, as Goober protests in the picture.

Beverly and I are caught up on Severance – I love this show. The writing, decor and filming is fantastic.

I’d like document that ChloĆ«, Lily, Beverly and I watched No Country for Old Men, and Lily, Beverly and I watched There will be Blood.

In the studio, Goober and I half watched The Expert (1995) featuring Jeff Speakman.

I missed this when I came out. I liked Speakman’s previous movies well enough when I was younger, but this one is especially… poor. The sound is full of out-of-phase mics, the lighting is terrible, and even some of the scene compositions had me scratching my head. I didn’t finish it, but it’s on my list of favorite crappy movies! I then decided to try Speakman’s Memorial Day (1998). Prime repeatedly switched it with a different Memorial Day (2012) that does not feature Jeff Speakman. I’ve never had that happen.
I then watched the first episode of The Old Man, and I liked it!
