Shutter Island, loved this. I don’t know how I missed it when it came out, but I really enjoyed the twistyness.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man I didn’t know this existed. I loved Jack Kesy as Hellboy, and this HB is a little less cocky, and more endearing. I enjoyed this visually, but I think the reliance on jumpy-scares with screechy strings/dissonate piano horror music was overdone and tiresome. Still, there’s something very Mignola in here.

Gladiator II, this photo says it all.

Wild Things almost was abandoned in the first 15 minutes. I’m glad I stuck with it – as it turned into a fun movie.

Insomnia, to me, insomnia didn’t seem like the point in this one. Certainly a factor. I kept thinking I was watching a David Fincher flick. I would have liked it if Robin Williams’ character got a sequel and continued down his path.

Continuing in the coastal thrillers Criterion category, I watched Body Heat. A young Ted Danson surprised me, along with a very sweaty William Hurt and Kathleen Turner.
