Vacation, All I Ever Wanted

We just returned from our annual pilgrimage to the beach, which happily landed in July this year.  The Chinese mark 5 seasons to our four – they have a “late summer” nestled between the furnace days of early July and crisp cool autumn.  When this season arrives, the light changes and I get a sense of melancholy and nostalgia in my gut.  I enjoy being at the ocean before “late summer” sets in because it feels like there still a lot of summer left. Anyhoo. I’m realizing now I didn’t take enough pictures – here’s the few I did take.

There were mermaids.

And skating! I used both sides of my skating brain and I even roller skated on the boardwalk!

We visited the shipwreck museum on Fenwick Island – totally worth the trip. It’s free and there are some amazing artifacts in there – some from the Titanic and a lot of pirate stuff.

And holy moly there was a DOUBLE RAINBOW!!! WHAT CAN IT MEAN?
