This is a collection of photos from the March. I’ve dated this post March 1, to move it farther back in the month’s sequence of posts.

Stuff watched
We watched Gangs of New York with my kiddos. We saw Black Bag in the theater. I liked it well enough, although thinking that Michael Fassbender’s character reminded me of a handsome George Smiley. It was fun, if not familiar.

I’m enjoying Daredevil Born Again, too. And we started season four of Righteous Gemstones. Lady in the Lake was filmed (partly) in my neighborhood! I saw the trucks set up outside of the jewelry store one day in 2022. It always fun to watch things that were filmed in town.

Criterion Channel:

I don’t know how I missed The Trial, directed by Orson Welles and starring a young Anthony Perkins. I was struck by how much Freddie Highmore looks like Perkins as the young Norman Bates in the Bates Motel series.

I watched The Conversation while doing some spring cleaning. I really enjoyed it – I might watch it again. I’ve watched a couple of the Once Upon a Time in China series (I and In America). The versions I am seeing are so clean! I also watched some of Jackie Chan’s Police Story, which I haven’t watched in ~20 years. So good.

I’m taking advantage of the commentary and stuff for the above films from Criterion.
